Virtual Child Life Program
The 2023 Retinoblastoma Research Symposium will be offering a Child Life program for families joining throughout the weekend. Children attending in person will be provided with the materials at the event and children attending virtually will have two separate opportunities to participate in a virtual Child Life activities. Please see below for instructions and a list of items required for the virtual activities.
Families who registered for the event early and indicated that they had children who will participate in the virtual Child Life sessions may receive a package in the mail with the materials required for the activities however these may be supplemented with additional items. All efforts will be made to ship out materials to families however materials may not arrive on time depending on location.

EYE Am Special: Designing Unique Prosthetic Eyes
Materials required:
- Print outs of the blank eye template (linked below) or plain paper (alternatively small smooth rocks or ping pong balls)
- Markers, crayons, pens, paint
- Stickers
- Collage materials of a variety of images of interest (e.g., sports teams, animals, nature, etc.)
- Glue or glue stick

Puppet Masters Puppet Making
Materials required:
- Paper bags (or old socks)
- Colourful construction paper or plain paper
- Markers, crayons, pens, paint
- Scissors
- Photo(s) of your child, family, and friends
- Stickers and googly eyes
- Collage materials (e.g., pompoms, felt, photos cut from magazines, cards, colourful papers, pictures printed from internet)
- Glue or glue stick
- Popsicle sticks or tongue depressors
