2024 Retinoblastoma Research Symposium

2024 Retinoblastoma Research Symposium

The Retinoblastoma Research Symposium is a hybrid meeting that brings together retinoblastoma patients, survivors, families, health professionals, and researchers to learn from each other, connect with their peers, and discuss the future of retinoblastoma research. The symposium is hosted by CRRAB.

Registration is required for this free event. All members of the family are welcome to participate, including children who will participate in the Children’s Program happening alongside the symposium. You can read about past events on our blog:  2023, 2022, 2021.

To help ease the financial burden, Canadian families traveling from out of town can request a modest travel stipend. Amount of the stipend will be approved on a case by case basis. To request a travel stipend, check off the box in the registration form (last question before submitting). See below for more information.

Child Life Directed Children’s Program: hosted alongside the meeting content developed for adults, this specialized Child Life program includes activities and learning experiences meant to foster creativity, self-expression, fun, and bonding. For many children, this is the first opportunity to meet others affected by retinoblastoma.

Travel Stipends: Canadian out-of-province and in-province families can request a travel stipend to help cover the cost of travel to the symposium. Due to the limited amount of stipends, all requests will be considered and final decisions on approval will be made on a case-by-case basis. If you have any questions about the travel stipends, please email retinoblastoma.research@sickkids.ca.
